Jakarta, May 8, 2025 – In the spirit of celebrating speed, cultural expression, and community unity, the Jakarta ePrix Grand Audition (JeGA) Cheerleaders has officially launched as part of the pre-event series for the 2025 Formula E Jakarta E-Prix. This event serves as a stage for cheer teams from across Indonesia to perform, unite, and become part of an international electric race with a global sportainment theme.

Six winning teams will be crowned as the official cheer squad of the 2025 Jakarta E-Prix and will perform live on June 21, 2025, at the Jakarta International e-Prix Circuit in Ancol. Their performances will be broadcast by over 40 media partners across more than 192 territories and digital platforms in over 25 languages. Viewers from around the world will witness their energy in action, as the global Formula E community continues to grow on social media. Winners will also receive a total prize pool of IDR 200 million.
JeGA Cheerleaders is more than just an entertainment competition. It is a celebration of youth spirit—beyond the race track, within communities, and across digital spaces. Under the theme “Beyond the Track”, JeGA invites students, university teams, independent communities, and dance crews from all over Indonesia to showcase their energy on an inclusive and competitive national stage.
Deni Rifky Purwana, Project Director of the Jakarta E-Prix 2025, stated that JeGA represents an expansion of Formula E’s spirit into the realms of culture and community. “We want Jakarta E-Prix 2025 to be more than just a race. JeGA is a platform for young people to actively engage, share their energy, creativity, and pride in Jakarta as a global city. Through JeGA, we celebrate sports, spirit, and community all on one stage.”
“Through JeGA, this race truly expands—from the circuit to the community, from speed to solidarity, from technology to cultural expression. We want every segment of society to feel that the Jakarta E-Prix is not just an electric car race, but a celebration of collaboration, creativity, and the spirit of the future,” Deni added.
JeGA Cheerleaders is open to all cheer teams from high schools, universities, communities, and independent dance groups. The selection process consists of two phases:
- May 1–31, 2025: Digital audition via social media with open registration and public voting
- June 1–7, 2025: Announcement of the top 22 teams advancing to the finals
- June 8, 2025: Grand Final Showdown at Taman Martha Tiahahu, Jakarta
At the final event, 22 teams will deliver high-energy, outdoor performances combining choreography, music, and cultural elements in the signature sportainment style of the Jakarta E-Prix. Performances will be judged by a professional panel, including renowned choreographer Ari Tulang, based on five key criteria: energy & execution, synchronization & creativity, stage presence, costume & team identity, and audience response (bonus points).
JeGA Cheerleaders is made possible through strong collaboration between the Jakarta E-Prix organizers, creative communities, mass media, and influencers. It provides a platform for young people to express themselves through positivity, creativity, and an active lifestyle that aligns with the sustainability values promoted by the Jakarta E-Prix.
