Jakarta, May 17, 2025 — Amid the rapid pace of digital transformation and the growing need for cross-sector collaboration, the Indonesia Digital Forum (IDF) 2025 was officially held on May 15–16 in Jakarta. This strategic forum marked the first collaborative initiative between three key organizations in Indonesia’s digital sector: the Indonesian Internet Domain Name Registry (PANDI), the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), and the Indonesian Telecommunications Providers Association (ATSI).
Carrying the theme “Collaboration in Building Indonesia’s Digital Ecosystem,” IDF 2025 was designed as a cross-sector collaborative platform that brought together stakeholders from government, industry, academia, and the digital community. Behind the realization of this forum was the strategic leadership of Muhammad Arif Angga, Chairman of APJII, who emphasized the importance of gotong royong (collective cooperation) as the foundation for shaping Indonesia’s digital future.
In his opening remarks, Muhammad Arif Angga, Chairman of APJII, stated that IDF 2025 serves as a shared platform to align directions, address challenges, and ensure the growth of Indonesia’s digital ecosystem on a strong foundation.
“I believe there are four critical aspects for Indonesia’s digital future: equitable internet access, digitally ready human resources, systems that are secure against cyber threats, and adaptive regulations. These elements are interconnected and must be addressed simultaneously if we want to achieve rapid and sustainable growth,” said Arif.
“Through this forum, we are not only engaging in discussions, but also demonstrating collective responsibility. If Indonesia aims to become a global digital powerhouse, cross-sector collaboration is no longer optional—it is essential. This is the first step toward building alignment between technological innovation and public policy. Digital transformation cannot be carried out in silos; we need real synergy across infrastructure, talent, and regulation. I believe IDF can become the meeting point to realize that vision,” he added.
IDF 2025 also marked the 29th anniversary of APJII, an important milestone for the association, which for nearly three decades has been a driving force behind the growth of Indonesia’s internet infrastructure—from building basic connectivity to accelerating nationwide digital transformation adoption.
“This anniversary is not merely a celebration, but also a moment of reflection and a reaffirmation of APJII’s commitment to bridging the digital divide. Our vision is to create internet access that is secure, affordable, and relevant for all layers of society. To achieve this, we must collectively encourage a balance between the supply and demand sides of the digital ecosystem,” Arif concluded.
IDF 2025 served as a strategic platform to formulate concrete actions aimed at strengthening the five pillars of Indonesia’s national digital transformation: internet infrastructure enhancement, cloud and data center development, local content ecosystem growth, regulatory harmonization, and digital talent empowerment. The forum is expected to become a key milestone in fostering more structured and productive collaboration in line with the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.
