GlobalHealth Asia-Pacific (GHAPAC) Aesthetics, Wellness & Longevity Conference & Awards 2026 held in Indonesia as it Strengthens Its Position in Integrated Wellness and Medical Tourism Ecosystem in Asia

JAKARTA, 28 September 2026 — GlobalHealth Asia-Pacific (GHAPAC) held its inaugural Aesthetics, Wellness & Longevity Conference & Awards 2026 on 24–25 September 2026 at Grand Hyatt Jakarta, bringing together more than 200 healthcare and industry decision-makers from various APAC countries, including participants from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and South Korea. The regional gathering, which featured keynote sessions from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, brought together healthcare professionals, hospitals, aesthetics and wellness practitioners, medical technology companies, industry leaders and innovators to discuss the future of aesthetics, wellness and longevity and Indonesia’s growing role within the regional ecosystem. Held under the theme “Defining the Future of Ageless Innovation,” the conference addressed the growing convergence of aesthetics, preventive healthcare, wellness, regenerative medicine and longevity, as Indonesia strengthens its healthcare capabilities and develops its wellness and medical tourism ecosystem. Indonesia is increasingly positioning healthcare and wellness tourism as part of its broader tourism and healthcare development. The establishment of the Sanur Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Bali as Indonesia’s first health-focused SEZ, together with new international-standard healthcare and wellness facilities, reflects growing investment in building an integrated ecosystem that connects medical services, wellness, hospitality and tourism. Narender Panjwani, Chairman of GlobalHealth Asia-Pacific, said, “Indonesia has significant potential to become an important market and regional player in the growing aesthetics, wellness and longevity sector, especially with tremendous potential, with strong medical talent, growing healthcare infrastructure, an established aesthetics and wellness sector, internationally recognised hospitality and a wellness heritage that is already known around the world,” “As aesthetics, wellness and longevity become increasingly connected with healthcare, growth also needs to be supported by scientific credibility, professional standards and responsible innovation. This is the conversation we want to bring together through GHAPAC.” he added. The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia addressed the role of healthcare policy through a keynote session titled “Healthcare Policy in Shaping Indonesia’s Aesthetics, Wellness and Longevity Ecosystem.” The discussion highlighted the importance of ensuring that the growth of aesthetic medicine, preventive healthcare, wellness and longevity-related services developed alongside patient safety, professional competency, quality standards and evidence-based practice. Dwi Puspasari, SKM, M.Sc., Head of the Center for Health Resilience System Policy, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, said, “Indonesia is ready to be a serious player in regional health and wellness, not only as a market, but also as a partner. We estimate that health tourism could contribute up to US$84 billion, or around Rp1,362 trillion, to our GDP. But its value goes beyond the numbers. Health tourism brings in foreign exchange and investment, creates jobs, drives growth across the regions, and pushes us to raise the quality of care for our own people. As of this month, Indonesia has designated 44 medical tourism hospitals, offering centers of excellence in areas including cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, aesthetic surgery, and regenerative medicine. We have also created three Health Special Economic Zones in Sanur, Bali, Banten, and Batam, with faster investment pathways, simpler licensing, and attractive tax incentives.”  The Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, meanwhile, addressed “Developing an Integrated Wellness and Medical Tourism Ecosystem,” highlighting Indonesia’s potential to combine healthcare capabilities with its wellness heritage, tourism assets and internationally recognised hospitality sector. The discussion focused on greater connectivity between hospitals and clinics, wellness providers, tourism and hospitality operators, destinations, investors and other industry stakeholders to develop an ecosystem capable of serving domestic and international consumers. Hanifah Makarim, Assistant Deputy for Business Development and Capital Access, Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, said, “Kemenpar will continue to strengthen coordination with relevant ministries and government institutions, as well as tourism industry stakeholders, healthcare providers, and wellness businesses, to develop integrated health tourism packages that bring together Indonesia’s medical and wellness tourism offerings. Through these collaborative efforts, Indonesia seeks to highlight the strengths and capabilities of its hospitals, medical services, wellness facilities, and tourism destinations. The development of integrated health tourism packages is expected to provide visitors with seamless and comprehensive experiences, combining quality medical services with wellness, recovery, and leisure activities. This initiative reflects Indonesia’s commitment to developing a more integrated and competitive health tourism ecosystem while creating greater opportunities for collaboration across the healthcare, wellness, and tourism sectors.” Together, the two government perspectives highlighted the importance of connecting healthcare policy and professional standards with innovation, industry development, tourism and international collaboration as Indonesia’s aesthetics, wellness and longevity ecosystem grows. “One of GHAPAC’s key objectives is to create connections across markets. Bringing healthcare and industry players from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, South Korea and other markets together in Jakarta, creates opportunities for knowledge exchange, partnerships and cross-border collaboration,” Panjwani concluded. For Indonesian healthcare and aesthetics players, the conference provided access to regional counterparts and emerging industry developments, while giving international participants greater exposure to Indonesia’s healthcare capabilities and market potential. Indonesia’s combination of medical expertise, expanding healthcare infrastructure, aesthetics and wellness capabilities, traditional wellness practices, and established tourism and hospitality industries provides a strong foundation for further development of the sector. GHAPAC identified an opportunity for Indonesia to move beyond being a large consumer market and strengthen its role as a regional healthcare and wellness destination, industry partner and source of expertise. More than a conference, GHAPAC combined a professional conference, B2C showcase and industry awards, connecting thought leadership with consumer engagement, business opportunities, regional visibility and industry recognition. As GHAPAC’s first dedicated Aesthetics, Wellness & Longevity initiative in Indonesia, the 2026 conference was intended to establish a longer-term platform connecting Indonesia with the wider Asia-Pacific healthcare, wellness and medical tourism ecosystem.
