Pascal Wehrlein, Porsche Motorsport Win 2025 Miami E-Prix; Jakarta E-Prix 2025 Fast Approaching

Jakarta, 15 April 2025 – The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship returned to Miami for the first time since Season 1 in 2015, debuting at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. In this action-packed race, Pascal Wehrlein executed a smart strategy by staying behind his teammate and race leader Antonio Felix da Costa as the race neared its end. Wehrlein briefly took the lead before Da Costa regained the position using Attack Mode, which this season not only provides an extra 50 kW of power but also transforms the Gen3 Evo car into an all-wheel-drive machine for maximum acceleration. Shortly after, the race became even more intense due to a crash involving Jake Hughes, Maximilian Guenther, and Mitch Evans, which forced a temporary halt. Tension rose further as several drivers still had unused Attack Mode time that needed to be activated before the finish. Luckily for Wehrlein, his 4-4 minute Attack Mode strategy allowed him to complete it within the remaining laps. Once the race resumed with a standing start, Wehrlein immediately activated his second Attack Mode, overtaking Mahindra driver Nyck de Vries and teammate Da Costa. Although Wehrlein initially crossed the line in second after being overtaken by pole-sitter Norman Nato on the final lap, Nato failed to fully deploy his Attack Mode before the finish and received a 10-second time penalty, officially handing the win to Wehrlein. This victory places Wehrlein third in the drivers’ standings, behind Da Costa and Oliver Rowland (Nissan), despite Rowland failing to score points. TAG Heuer Porsche leads the team standings with 105 points, ahead of Nissan with 79 points. However, Nissan still tops the manufacturers’ standings with 144 points compared to Porsche’s 120. Next up, Formula E heads to Monaco for the first-ever double-header at the iconic circuit on May 3 & 4.
