Shaping Future PR Leaders Through Crisis Communication

Grateful for the opportunity to guest lecture at my alma mater, the University of Indonesia. Sharing knowledge with future PR professionals is always a fulfilling experience, especially on a topic as crucial as Crisis Communications Management. During the session, we delved into the fundamentals of managing crises effectively, with a strong emphasis on upholding PR ethics as the foundation for all decision-making. We discussed strategies for navigating complex challenges while maintaining transparency, integrity, and trust. To make the discussion more practical, we analyzed recent crises from both global and local contexts. These real-world examples provided valuable insights into how organizations and individuals can handle crises, mitigate risks, and rebuild their reputation. It’s inspiring to see the enthusiasm and curiosity of the students as they engaged with case studies, asked thought-provoking questions, and shared their perspectives on effective crisis communication. Special thanks to FISIP UI for the invitation, it’s always an honor to return to where my journey began.
